The office of Dr. Harvey Manes at Wellwood Orthopedics and Physical Therapy has been serving the Long Island community for over 25 years. The office has a friendly staff, which includes a licensed nurse, an emergency medical technician, a certified medical assistant, an x-ray technician, and a certified personal trainer. The office is well equipped with the state of the art technology to perform X-rays, EMGs, and a Bone Densitometer that can perform a bone density measurement within minutes.
For your convenience, the office has a well-equipped minor operating suite to repair carpal tunnel syndrome and perform arthroscopy and other minor orthopedic procedures, making it unnecessary to be admitted into a hospital. The Physical Therapy division is also well equipped with exercise machines, a treadmill, a whirlpool, ultrasound, TENS units, hydrocollator packs a hot wax machine and infrared lamps.
Recently, in January 2010, Dr Manes published a timely and well received book entitled "Momma's, Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Doctors" - The Cure For A Profession In Crisis. This book can be purchased at your local bookstore including Amazon and Barnes and Nobel, or directly from his office.
